The Story of a Little Bicycle Zubryonok
Zubryonok is a Belarusian tricycle with a 30-year history. Popular among many generations, Zubryonok has proved that a reliable tricycle is the best choice of transport for children from 1.5 years old. But how did the Zubryonok bicycle come up?
``The Story of a Little Bicycle Zubryonok``
Once upon a time, a curious design engineer accidentally wandered into the children’s department of a large store. He started looking at ride-on toys with interest. Suddenly, a lot of customers showed up, and the engineer decided to watch them…
Together with his parents, little Kolya came to choose his first bicycle. Kolya was almost two years old, but he couldn’t reach the pedals of any bicycle in the store. And Kolya’s mother was upset to discover that all the bicycles were very heavy, and she would not be able to carry them on walks.
Then Masha ran into the department. The girl was three years old and she was confidently sitting on children’s bicycles. But there was a problem: the little girl was very independent and wanted to do everything on her own, yet she couldn’t ride the bicycles standing in the store without the help of her mother, as they were all two-wheeled.
The engineer was about to leave when he saw Lidia Mikhailovna. The grandmother had come to choose a present for her beloved grandson Petya. His big dream was a bicycle. Lydia Mikhailovna thoroughly approached the question and consulted with orthopaedist before going to the store, for her biggest priority was the healthy development of her grandson Petenka. Now she knows exactly what the most important thing in choosing a kid’s transport is:
- The bicycle should be sturdy, lightweight and stable;
- The bicycle should be adjustable for height;
- The bicycle should have good suspension;
- And the bicycle should be blue, because Petenka loves this colour so much.
“Where can we find our bike?” ― wondered Lydia Mikhailovna and Masha and Kolya’s parents while leaving the store without their bicycles.
“Well, that will not do!” ― exclaimed the design engineer, having already forgotten why he had come to the department store in the first place. Later, he told his colleagues about what he saw in the store when working at the Molodechno Metalware Plant, and so they had an ambition to create a bicycle that would be suitable for small children and would meet all wishes of parents and doctors’ recommendations:
We constructed a sturdy steel frame and coated it with a corrosion-preventive compound. Such a frame is undoubtedly reliable! This is why Zubryonok is a multigeneration bicycle;
All bicycle components have been designed and assembled in the way that makes it comfortable for all kids to ride the bicycle: arms reach the handlebar and feet reach the pedals;
Three wheels have been optimized for the bicycle size. A large front wheel gives it a good ride;
A seat that can grow with your child;
The bicycle is lightweight at only 3.6 kg. It is easy for a child to ride and easy for an adult to carry.
It is very stable. Of course, parent control is necessary at first, but after getting the hang of it, the kids ride Zubryonok bicycle on their own with great confidence.
And what about our young shoppers? While working on the Zubryonok bicycles, of course, the designers had already been riding big two-wheeled bicycles, but they were very happy for their younger friends, who got their Zubryonok bicycles in the end.
Kolya has grown big and strong, so now he doesn’t care about the weight of a bicycle any more. The same cannot be said for his mother, who often goes for a walk with her grandson.
Little Masha is sure that someday she will choose a Zubryonok tricycle for her daughter Julenka, because the latter will definitely be able to ride it on her own.
And what about Petenka? Like his grandmother, adult Peter chooses a Zubryonok for his son after consulting an orthopaedist, but the most important thing is the colour blue, for it is their common favourite colour now.
Choosing Zubryonok has already become a tradition!
